Contributor Guidelines

We hope you will join The Daily Beacon community and contribute to our mutual success.

 

  • If your article is purely informative, with no product endorsements (see this article as an example), please select ‘Submit Informative Article“.
  • If your article has product endorsements, select ‘Submit Marketing Post” and pay the fee of $75.

 

If your post is rejected, we will refund your fee in full. 

We will try to review your submission as quickly as possible. Many in our readership are affluent, and have family members that they care for such as grandparents. They’re interested in everything from finance to lifestyle, as well as retirement and aged care. We welcome in particular submissions that provide step-by-step guides with screenshots or images. 

 

In particular, we welcome submissions that cross-link to other articles that you publish on our website, thereby building deep informational resources for our mutual audience. For example, you might submit multiple submissions that provide different perspectives on the same topic, or you might submit a series that delves in more depth into your topic. Ultimately, though, if your article is very interesting to you, it may very well be very interesting to our audience so please submit your story!

Based in Melbourne, Australia, our aim is to create a community primarily for 45 yr old plus adults, full of useful, current information, opinions, news, and resources. We work hard on our digital reputation so that published articles rank well and have credibility with the search engines, especially Google.

Who Writes for Us?

We have a mix of professional journalists, marketing, professionals, and passionate individuals who may have a specific interest in a certain topic, such as gardening or finance or health and well-being. The common thread that joins us, or is that we are all focused on producing educational, informational, instructional, and well written content that grows our community and feeds our audience.

 

You don’t need a degree – you just need to be good at what you do.

Guidelines

Article Content

  • Articles must be interesting, entertaining, educational or informative for an Australian marketing audience. Articles should not be ‘spammy’ or used to push your products or services.
  • Inject your own personality, but ensure that articles are professional; not stuffy, overly formal or full of jargon.
  • Articles should be a minimum of 800 words
  • Articles should be written using Australian English (not American English).
  • Articles should be written in the third person.
  • Article titles, headings and sub-headings should be: catchy, well written, short and include a keyword (if it seems natural).
  • Article titles should compel people to read your article. Keep your headline to approximately 70 characters.
  • Articles must be original and cannot be published on any other website.
  • All sources must be cited. Immediately following the sourced statement, please include (Source: Name of Source). At the end of the article, please include the full hyperlink for every source. Please ensure sources are reputable and relevant.
  • If you target specific keywords, phrases and topics please remember to write naturally. Do not overstuff keywords.
  • Only include relevant links to reputable sources. Exact match anchor text and links will be removed.
  • Please proofread and edit your article before submission. Articles with grammatical and spelling errors will be returned for revision.
  • Articles should be written for the web (no big slabs of text). They should have headings, sub-headings, bullet points and pull out quotes.
  • Sharing of articles via your own social media channels is much appreciated

Media

  • Please submit at least one relevant image to accompany each article approximately.
  • Images must be a minimum of 300px wide by 200px high, at 72dpi.
  • You must own the image, or the image must be acceptable for commercial use. See www.unsplash.com for lots of great, free images.
  • If you find a supporting chart, infographic, or video that you would like to include in your article, please cite them and include them upon submission.

Author Bio

  • Please supply your full name, title and company name (if relevant).
  • Please also supply a brief biodata (up to 75 words) and a headshot of each author at the end of every article.
  • We are happy to include one hyperlink to your website homepage.
  • Please also supply a link to your Facebook and Twitter profile if you would like these included.

Article Revisions

  • Dailybeacon.com.au reserves the right to make minor revisions to your article.
  • If your article does not adhere to all these guidelines, we will remit for your revisions. To avert having your articles sent back, avoid articles that:
    • Do not meet these Guidelines.
    • Contain incorrect, inaccurate or falsified information.
    • Contain excessive grammatical errors and are generally poor quality.
    • Are excessively ‘spammy’ or push products and services.
    • All articles are peer reviewed by our team, and our edits are final.
  • Please note, that Dailybeacon.com.au reserves the right to: refuse to publish an article; to remove a published article without prior notice; and to edit a published article without prior notice.
  • We do receive a large number of topic pitches, our team will aim to review your article as soon as possible so we appreciate your patience.
  • If your article is approved, please note that we cannot guarantee a specific date when your article will be published but we will be in touch with a final draft for your review prior to publishing.
